The Global Identity Summit (GIS) will be taking place in Florida from 19-22 September. Attracting over 1,200 professionals from over 20 countries, GIS is the U.S. federal government’s primary outreach and collaboration-building event with the worldwide identity community.

Rob Laurence, Director Innovate Identity, will be presenting on: Extending the Use of a Government-issued Digital Identity into the Financial Sector. Now that the UK’s federated digital identity scheme, GOV.UK Verify, is live and being embedded within government services, attention is moving to identify other areas, such as health, local government and the private sector, where citizens and consumers could reuse the same digital identity.

Rob’s presentation will discuss how the UK Government is approaching this with the financial sector and what issues will need to be overcome, both from a government and finance industry perspective, if reuse is to be achieved with the banks, other financial institutions and the Fintech community.
